Ciate - Velvet Manicure

This is the second review of Ciate's manicure kits. I was very impressed with last weeks Caviar Manicure! But is the Velvet Manicure any good?

VELVET MANICURE

First Impressions
This looks interesting.... inside the box there is a coloured nail polish, a tub of velvet and a little brush which is labelled 'little black brush' - so cute! Also the lid doubles up as a handy tray so you don't make a mess of everything (even though I still managed to). The instructions are also really clear, and there is a simple version on the back of the box in case I loose the main set.

Application
To see the tutorial, click here --> http://emilydoesnailart.blogspot.co.uk. This was much easier to apply than the caviar tutorial and the little black brush means I can clean up my finger which turned 'furry' during the process.
The tub of Velvet it really big! It looks like it will run out after 4 - 5 uses but I hardly made a dent in the levels after using it for 10 nails.

Looks and Durability
The dark blue adds a sophisticated look to your nails, and although it didn't receive as much attention as the caviar manicure, lots of people still really loved it and everybody wanted to stoke the velvet! :p
However, this manicure is short lived because the velvet comes off when you wash your hands, not completely but the layer gets thinner and thinner until it disappears completely :(

Verdict - 4.7/5 Stars
I want to give this 5 stars so much but I cannot as it is way too expensive at £14(I've seen cheaper versions which work just as well for only £2)!
I love the fury effect from the velvet and it is very quick to apply. It doesn't need any fancy nail art on the top or a top coat because it is perfect as it is!
If you are a fan of 'velvety things' definitely consider buying a velvet manicure, although you might want to look for a slightly cheaper one first.
